Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity launches a few weeks from now, and players can’t help but get excited about this spin-off. The developer is giving us a deeper look at the game’s cast of characters now.
As Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is a Musou game, it shouldn’t be surprising that the game will feature a large roster. The Hyrule Warriors had several characters taken from various Legend of Zelda games. Just recently, Koei Tecmo shared two more characters who are part of the game’s roster.
Robbie, Purah, and the King
In a surprise reveal, the developers showcased Robbie, Purah, and the King of Hyrule himself as the next set of playable characters for the game. Including the four champions, Link, Zelda, and Impa, that means that there are at least 10 playable characters in the game.
We’ve yet to see some of the bad guys for the roster. However, considering that Calamity Ganon is the only bad guy from The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild, we might not see another antagonist. That is, of course, if Nintendo decides to add a new character to the game’s lore.
Who are these three characters?
The King of Hyrule needs no introduction. Those who’ve played Breath of the Wild know him as the man who helped Link during the tutorial phase of the game. He serves as the steadfast leader of Hyrule and is also the father of Zelda. We’ve yet to see how he battles in the game.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity also introduces a younger version of Robbie and Purah. Purah resides in the Sheikah that guides link in the Hateno Ancient Lab. On the other hand, Robbie is at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Both characters were crucial in Breath of the Wild. Robbie even helped Link create gear made from Guardian pieces.
Like Impa, Robbie and Purah are years old in Breath of the Wild already. It’s good to see them in their younger and stronger selves in the upcoming title. Fans are now excited to see how they play during battle too.
We’ve yet to know exactly how many characters there will be in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. All we do know is that it will be more than just Link, Zelda, and the Four Champions of Hyrule gracing the battlefield. There may be some other allies we’ve yet to see.
