Second season’s possible plotline
In the previous season, Yotsuya learned the world they were in wasn’t imaginary but real. It’s a parallel universe that constantly reminded him that he killed a man.
He would continuously feel guilty until he returned to the real world, reminding him of what he did every waking moment, The Cinemaholic noted.
A young girl then appeared, introducing herself as the Game Master. She asked Yotsuya to join her to meet a new player.
Later, Yotsuya found himself stopping the new player and his brother from murdering someone, telling them they would end up in prison if they did so.
He then talked to the Game Master and confessed he only did that to make the game easier for him and his friends.
I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 1 ended with a big reveal that the game players were virtual, and the rest was real.
This revelation may be at play in I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 2. Yotsuya, Iu, and Kusue are already confident of their roles in the game.
So, the second season may also show them finally accepting their fates playing the game.
I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 2 will premiere sometime in July in Japan and stream on Crunchyroll.
