The star of the recent Ubisoft Forward stream wasn’t Assassin’s Creed or Watchdogs. It was instead a new IP based on Greek mythology called Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
Ubisoft finally gave us a closer look at Immortals: Fenyx Rising, which was formerly known as Gods and Monsters. The new IP is undeniably an exciting one and fans want to see it in action. While it’s looking amazing so far, there are a few key features that fans want to see from the game.
Open exploration
It’s no longer a secret that Ubisoft’s new IP draws heavily from The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. If there’s one thing that the developers should try to emulate in their game, it should be Breath of the Wild’s open world.
Hyrule featured amazing locale and undeniably beautiful sceneries. The map was large both vertically and horizontally, making it thrilling to explore. This is certainly something that Ubisoft is trying to pull off in their new game. Hopefully, they don’t bite off more than they could chew and create a map that’s padded with collectibles.
Story-driven quests
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey had a ton of quests. These weren’t just simply quests, though, as there’s a lot of story and depth with each adventure. Seeing that the team making Immortals Fenyx Rising is the same as the one for Assassin’s Creed, fans are expecting the same depth when it comes to the quests.
The developers should get inspiration from Greek mythology to make each of the quests work. Having depth to each quest will make the game feel more exciting and engaging too.
Epic boss fights
Greek mythology is filled with many memorable creatures. From the trailer alone, we can see that medusa and the minotaur are already going to be a part of the game. Taking a cue from the original God of War trilogy, the game should have a ton of epic boss fights.
There are many creatures that Ubisoft used. Fans are most excited for Fenyx’s fights against the hydra, cyclops, and so much more. The bigger the monsters, the more epic will be the adventure of Fenyx.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising launches for the current and next generation of consoles, as well as the Stadia, Switch, and Windows PC this December 4. This Greek mythology-inspired game is an entirely new IP from Ubisoft, and fans are already loving it. We might see more of the game soon.
