Formerly known as Gods and Monsters, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a new and exciting IP from Ubisoft. The developers gave us a closer look at the game during the recent Ubisoft Forward.
Ubisoft has a busy year ahead of it. For just the last quarter of this year, the company has Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watchdogs Legion planned. Now, they also have Immortals Fenyx Rising, which is launching later this year.
As per the announcement, the game will launch this Dec. 3 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, and Windows PC. Fans had expected that the game would’ve launched sometime next year due to the lack of new details. However, it’s good that we finally have a release date.
Since being revealed at E3 last year, what was then called Gods and Monsters was compared to Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It’s an open-world RPG adventure.
The main difference is that this time, the setting will be taken directly from Greek mythology. This means players can expect to see creatures like the minotaur, medusa, and more.
According to those who have tried the game, Immortals Fenyx Rising feels like a mix of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. However, this shouldn’t come as a surprise as the game team that worked on Assassin’s Creed is helping with the game.
Much of the game’s combat system and exploration is based on The Legend of Zelda. Not just Breath of the Wild, but previous entries as well. A huge feature difference is that there are more RPG elements in Ubisoft’s upcoming game.
While the game’s trailer showed Fenyx being a woman, some early testers say that there are options to customize the game’s character. These options include voice, hair, gender, and much more.
One of the noticeable aspects of the game is its unique art style. It’s easy to compare the game to a painting, and it looks beautiful as well. Of course, fans would like to see more of the game in a gameplay trailer, which is sure to launch sometime soon.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a daring new IP from Ubisoft. The company has focused mainly on its Assassin’s Creed, Rainbox Six, and Watchdogs series recently. It will be exciting to see the new things they bring to the table.
