Wronged Us is one of the most on-topic horror games that take inspiration from famous titles.
You know the drill: teenagers go missing, the townsfolk suspect it’s a supernatural occurrence, and then they find out it’s not. To make matters worse, the game is hauntingly gorgeous and set in an 80s-esque world.
This suspenseful indie video game offers more than just eerie scares; there are also cameos by some big horror names like Clive Barker and H.P. Lovecraft that put Wronged Us on its unique path with horrifying yet delightful twists of its own.
And for any fans of indie games or old-school horror movies, Wronged Us will scratch your itch for a good scare right now.
What is this game all about?
Wronged Us tells the story of a newlywed couple named Evelyn and Luke whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. To make matters worse, they also lose their cell phone, so when they find an abandoned mansion, they figure it’s better to seek shelter than risk getting lost in the dark.
They’re introduced to Mr. and Mrs. King, who live there with their daughter Claire, and it’s soon revealed that the family is harboring some big secrets.
As you explore the house during your stay, you’ll discover additional characters that will reveal even more layers of this haunting tale. This indie horror game takes inspiration from Silent Hill and other famous titles. For example, players will meet a character named Hector that’s modeled after Resident Evil’s Nemesis.
The game also has plenty of twists and turns that make Wronged Us worth playing on its own merits.
The story unfolds in a way that you’ll be drawn into the story and keep wanting to find out what happens next. You won’t be forced to play a certain way, but you’ll also want to uncover the secrets that lie within the house.
When is this game going to launch?
And this indie horror game does have its fair share of jump scares as well. But since this is an indie horror game, there’s an extra sense of dread instead of just being scared for no reason at all. The creep factor adds a dose of fear to Wronged Us, mainly because this indie horror game has other elements going for it.
As aforementioned, the game is gorgeous. From the lights to its heartwarming color palette, Wronged Us is a treat for the eyes in more ways than one. But there’s also a gloominess to it that will add weight to any fear you might feel when exploring it.
Wronged Us will be launching its Kickstarter on October 20th and plans to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC during Q3 2019. If you’re a fan of indie games or want a break from all the big-budget AAA titles out there, then it looks like Wronged Us is worth keeping an eye on.
