Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man Remastered is the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. The developers have been under scrutiny lately, and it seems like fans have gone way overboard with their attacks on the devs.
The general outlook on Spider-Man Remastered is great, and many fans appreciate all of the upgrades being considered. However, there’s still great debate as to why the main actor for Peter Parker was recast for the game. On the part of Insomniac Games, the criticisms went as far as becoming threats from the community.
Creative director receives serious threats
Insomniac Games’ Bryan Intihar took to twitter to share his sentiments on what has been happening recently. As per the Spider-Man creative director, he has been receiving threats from some fans who are against the recasting in the game.
To our Spidey fans: I totally appreciate your passion, but sending me threatening notes that you will “HUNT YOU DOWN AND WE WILL FIND YOU! YOU FIX THIS NOW!” isn’t cool. With what’s happening in today’s world, let’s be a force for good and be respectful of each other. Thank you.

Obviously, fans of the game have gone overboard. The good news is that there are still many others who are taking the high road. In response to his tweet, many fans of the game are sending their kind regards to Intihar and the team working on the remastered version of the game.
This isn’t at all surprising. Just a few months back, The Last of Us 2’s Laura Bailey, who voiced Abby, got threats as well. This time, the threats came from fans who hated the latest addition to The Last of Us 2 cast.
Will the game be worth it?
Aside from fans who hate the recasting, Spider-Man Remastered looks worthy enough to be bought even for those that have already finished the game. Although the original version was released only a few years back, the graphical and performance upgrades are clear.
As to why they had to recast the main actor, the developers explained that it was necessary for making the experience better. They were trying to achieve a new sense of realism with the game. Insomniac Games is already set with their decision to recast the main actor.
The main issue with fans is that the new face of Spider-Man looks way younger. Whereas in the game, he’s already a more mature hero.
The Spider-Man Remastered game is not just a simple PlayStation 5 port of the PlayStation 4 classic. Fans of the first game will see that there’s more than just a few enhancements in this re-release. Despite its amazing reviews from critics, fans are still not having the recasting of Peter Parker.
