iOS 15 turns off the active noise cancellation of AirPods Pro Siri Control for some users.
IOS 15 update presents an error for some AirPods Pro users because active noise cancellation or ANC control through Siri does not seem to work. Apple’s wireless AirPods are tested at a media event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California.
Apple’s latest mobile operating system update, iOS 15, appears to have another bug in the first release of its stable release. This time around, a few AirPod users attempt to control their wireless headphones through the Cupertino giant’s virtual assistant and end up with an error.
iOS 15: Airpods Pro Transparency mode
According to Apple’s support page, its virtual assistant named Siri could take commands to control the iPhone manufacturer’s headphone accessories. All AirPod models support the voice command function. All the user has to do is say the hot word “Hey Siri.”

After that, they could mention whatever task they want Siri to do, such as enabling active noise cancellation or transparency mode on AirPods Pro. According to Apple Insider, some users share their bad experience after installing iOS 15, claiming that the update drops Siri support on AirPods Pro to some extent.
Apple started it as Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), an information technology conference, where it showcased iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12, and watchOS 8. The newsletter also cited a Reddit thread full of fallen users. On Siri Controls Pro.
AirPods problem
Users have always complained about Siri’s inability to turn the noise-canceling feature of Apple AirPods Pro on or off. Instead, when iOS 15 users ask Siri to control the AirPods ANC, the virtual assistant responds with a disappointing response, saying, “Sorry, I can’t do this. that most of the complaints in the Reddit thread only mentioned Siri’s issues with the AirPods Pro.”
On the other hand, the virtual assistant could still control the function mentioned above on AirPods Max via voice control also works well with iOS 15. MacRumors has confirmed that the only solution to the Voice Commands on AirPods Pro problem is the update to iOS 15.
Note that the beta of the iOS 15 update was released on Tuesday, September 21. However, the version larger patch has yet to be released.
No active noise cancellation in iOS 15
Meanwhile, while iOS 15.1 is not yet available to non-beta users, here’s what to do: Unfortunately, voice commands won’t temporarily be an available option. Alternatively, iOS 15 users should enable physical control options in AirPods settings. With this, users can press and hold the correct AirPods to turn the ANC function on and off.
Meanwhile, the transparent mode could be activated by doing the same with the left counterpart.
