While September is the typical time when we hear about new Apple gadgets, this might not be happening this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Delays are always possible, and there are a variety of debates on whether we’ll have to wait longer for the new iPhone.
Although not yet confirmed, we are expecting iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max this year. We have an excellent idea of what to expect, as many of the specs and features have already leaked.
Rumors suggest that the most awaited iPhone will be ready for final testing by the end of June, and will enter mass production in July. If this is true, then the next Apple series will go on sale in September.
As per TechRadar, if the iPhone 11 is a reference, the price for the next series will be the following:
Before we dig further into the batter downgrade, you need to know that you’ll have four models to choose from. That means several different sizes too. Based on the most recent information on models, the phones below will be launched:
The rumored batteries of the upcoming iPhones carry the model numbers A2471, A2431, and A2466. With the A2471 being 2,227mAh, A2431 is 2,775mAh, and the A2466 model has the capacity of 3,687mAh.
For reference, however, the iPhone 11 has a 3,110mAh battery, the iPhone 11 Pro has a 3,046mAh one, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 3,969mAh one. That means the upcoming Pro Max phone will have a lower mAh compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
We should have a brighter, more official idea of the battery capacity and charging situation in September, as that’s when the next flagship series is likely to be announced. Apple never revealed the battery capacities of its iPhones before the official launch. We’ll have to wait for a teardown after the phones are released to get confirmation of their sizes.
Compared to other flagships such as Samsung’s Galaxy S20 with a 4,000 mAh battery, and the OnePlus 8 Pro with a 4,510 mAh battery, even the Pro Max variant looks rather dull on the battery front. Battery size, life, and capacity are particularly relevant in 5G phones, as connectivity to the next generation of mobile data can cause phones to suck down juice at a brisk pace.
