Apple today announced that the 6.1-inch models of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro would be available for preorder beginning this Friday, Oct. 16.

Apple is going all-out with the all-new iPhone 12 series. This year, you have four variants to choose from: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Each new iPhone model has 5G connectivity, an OLED display, and improved cameras. Not to mention that the camera of iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max can fight with mirrorless camera’s image quality.

Preorder for iPhone 12 series

Customers in Australia, China, Germany, Japan, the UK, the US, and more than 30 other countries will be able to preorder iPhone 12 Pro beginning at 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, Oct. 16. The availability of the phone will begin Friday, Oct. 23.

In addition, preorders for the iPhone 12 Pro Max will begin at 5 a.m. PST on Friday, Nov. 6. Its availability begins Friday, Nov. 13.

As for the cost, as reported by CNET, not every carrier or even Apple prices the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 the same. AT&T and Verizon Wireless sell those for $30 less than everyone else.

Here is a rundown of the dates you must remember if you are planning to buy the iPhone 12.

 

Apple is staggering the release of all the iPhone 12 models. That means the timing of preorders will be based on the model you want.

  • iPhone 12 Mini: Nov. 6 preorders, Nov. 13 availability
  • iPhone 12: Oct. 16 preorders, Oct. 23 availability
  • iPhone 12 Pro: Oct. 16 preorders, Oct. 23 availability
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: Nov. 6 preorders, Nov. 13 availability

Here are the color options for each of the variants:

  • iPhone 12 Mini: Black, red, white, green, blue
  • iPhone 12: Black, red, white, green, blue
  • iPhone 12 Pro: Gold, silver, graphite, blue
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: Gold, silver, graphite, blue

Prices and other info

The iPhone 12 Mini is the smallest of all, with only a 5.4-inch display. It’s also the least expensive model. The price starts at $699 for the 64GB, followed by $749 for 128GB and 256GB at $849.

The iPhone 12, which stands as the regular one, has a 6.1-inch screen. It has two rear-facing cameras and is available in a handful of bright and fun colors.

Similar to the regular model, the iPhone 12 Pro also has a screen size of 6.1 inches. It has stainless steel housing, three rear-facing cameras, and a lidar sensor for improved AR functions.

The largest among the family is the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen. You can have the 128GB for $1,099, 256GB for $1,199, and 512 for $1,399.
