It has happened again, and Apple is ruling in smartphone sales. iPhone 12 is now the best-selling 5G device in the world, in a short span!
According to India Today, the regular iPhone 12 has become the best-selling 5G smartphone in the world for October. It’s unexpected to believe considering the timing of Apple’s latest series. Counterpoint Research recently revealed the latest figures in its monthly Market Pulse Service.
Despite the launch in early October, it defeated previously released 5G devices of 2020 from big competitors.
iPhone 12 tops major 5G rivals
It’s hard to imagine how Apple manages to achieve such milestones, but credit must be given to its loyal customers. Many people were waiting for the ongoing line-up due to the 5G factor. Yes, it’s not mainstream yet, but they will be future-proof for the coming times.
Another remarkable thing to note is that the regular iPhone 12 was available on sale for just two weeks in October! And then topping the sales among other rivals is a mark of its huge demand and popularity. Because so far, all non-pro iPhones have topped the sales chart in the last three years. Be it iPhone XR, the 11, or the latest version this year.
But this time, surprisingly, the 12 Pro has also sold many units since it’s the second best-selling 5G device on the list. That’s insane to witness and excellent news for CEO Tim Cook and his team.
“iPhone 12 and 12 Pro for the US are capable of mmWave support. As a result, mmWave capable smartphones’ penetration increased to 12% in October compared to 5% in September. The popularity of the iPhone 12 also means that there will be a large installed base of mmWave capable devices in the US,” as per Counterpoint Research’s report.
Speaking of other phones in the Top 10, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is in the third spot. Huawei Nova 7 5G is on the fourth rank. Interestingly, all ten best-selling devices are from Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and Oppo. OnePlus and other companies failed to make an entry this time.
Upcoming Apple products in 2021
Meanwhile, the California tech giant must be celebrating even before Christmas and New Year’s eve. And that’s quite obvious to understand. Despite a pandemic to deal with, it managed to steal consumers’ attention to its products in 2020. No other tech manufacturer was able to do it.
The success of its affordable 2nd gen iPhone SE was also huge earlier this year. And now the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro’s impressive sales have provided it a great momentum for 2021. Fans and trade analysts will be keeping their eyes on the next big announcements from the firm. Current rumors suggest that AirPods Studio and AirTags will arrive next.
