The iPhone 12 is set for a massive reveal before the year ends, but when exactly it will be is still a mystery for many fans and analysts.
Apple is a master of building anticipation for its product releases. Steve Jobs pioneered the ultra-sleek Keynote presentation launches of products. Since then, all other companies have followed suit.
This year, the company has been forced to launch its products online. It started with the refreshed iPad Pro and was followed by WWDC 2020.
The same is expected from the company for its closing events of 2020. It has all intents and purposes to end the year with a bang because of so many new products set for release. So how long will the fans have to wait to see and get a hold of these products?
iPhone 12 will have one reveal, but two releases
No one has been safe from the pandemic. Major companies that rely on manufacturing have been forced to recalibrate their launches in 2020. Nevertheless, many have pulled through, including Apple for the iPhone 12. There are a total of four phones expected from the lineup.
The base models will have a 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max. On the Pro models, Apple will release a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The latter set is expected to be made available two weeks after the base models are available for sale.
So when will the event be? Last year, Apple held the event on September 10, and they shipped the products anytime between one to two weeks after the announcement. This year, Apple CFO Luca Maestri himself confirmed that the announcement and shipping of the iPhone 12 would be pushed back by a few weeks.
As to how many weeks those are, only Apple can confirm. As such, based on the calendar dates, the announcement could be September 29 or September 30. In consequence, the products will be available on October 9 or October 16.
What will be announced anyway?
There are many Apple product refreshes in line for this year. If the rumors are true, almost every product in Apple’s lineup will get an update internally and externally. In other words, Apple has been busy all year upgrading their devices.
Headlining the event will, of course, be the iPhone 12. Alongside it will be a new iPad, two new Apple Watches, a refreshed Apple TV, and Apple’s newest over-ear headphones.
All these products assumption have been based on rumors, and only Apple can confirm if they will release them or not. Be that as it may, the wait will not be too long anyway.
