Apple will launch the iPhone 12 LTE models in October and will wait until November to launch the 5G models.
A pair of new rumors today claim to offer further details on the iPhone 12 specifications and release dates for this fall. According to a new report from Macotakara, the version of 5G iPhone 12 models could be pushed until November.
Apple iPhone 12 late October launch
Apple has historically held events for all of its recent iPhone announcements during the first few weeks of September, with iPhones driving soon after, for the most part.
However, this year, the release could be pushed back due to delayed production and lockdowns caused by the ongoing pandemic and health crisis. There have been various rumors hinting at delays thus far, so it appears that some or all of the 2020 iPhones will be coming later than September.
The big company may still unveil all of its iPhone 12 series in September but launch the devices later than expected. We’ll never know, maybe October or November.
There is a history where Apple delayed its iPhone’s official launch. That is when the iPhone XR was released. Apple’s iPhone XR in 2018 was announced in September and then launched in late October. So it makes sense to base this past scene with the launch of the upcoming iPhone 12.
As reported by MacRumors, Apple’s LTE iPhone 12 will be released in October, while the 5G variants will follow in November. Mac Otakara has something of a mixed track record when it comes to rumors as it often sourced from Apple’s supply chain, which is not always true.
Specs and features based on rumors
We have now heard several stories about delayed launch dates, so we can expect at least some, if not all, of Apple’s 2020 iPhones to come later in the year than usual. Whatever the case, an iPhone 12 delay is still very much a possibility.
We’re expecting four Apple iPhone variants to launch this fall: a 5.4-inch standard iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch Max, a 6.1-inch Pro, and a 6.7-inch Pro Max. Those names are, of course, subject to change. If rumors are to be accurate, the mobile devices will be available to purchase this fall, likely starting at around $649 or $699.
Meanwhile, a separate rumor posted on Twitter claims to offer a look at the iPhone 12 Pro battery capacity. This report indicates an alleged filing in Korea through the SafetyKorea agency and claims that one new Apple model will feature a 2,775 mAh rated battery capacity.
