Sticking with previous leaks and speculations, the new iPhone SE 2020, indeed, sports a classic design but bumped up its internals accordingly.
The new iPhone SE 2020 is finally unveiled in the flesh, like clockwork. And like its speculated launch date, it also did stick with its previous leaks and rumors.
A Classic iPhone With Modern Internals
The new iPhone SE 2020, despite its given name, isn’t a reincarnation of the much smaller, first-generation iPhone SE in 2016. Instead, the phone is more of a refresh of the iPhone 8, which entails that the handset sports a 4.7-inch Retina IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750 x 1,334 pixels. Other key display features of the device include 625 nits of max brightness, True Tone Display, and wide color gamut.
Under the proverbial hood, the new iPhone SE 2020 is powered by the Apple A13 Bionic chipset, the same SoC, which fuels the current iPhone 11 series. Its offering on RAM, however, is still not revealed. Nevertheless, it is confirmed that the phone will retail in three storage options – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

Traditional Cameras
Apple didn’t go the extra in terms of the new iPhone SE camera features. On its rear, the phone features a single 12MP wide camera, with PDAF, OIS, and dual-LED, dual-tone flash.
The new iPhone SE 2020, with Apple’s A13 Bionic chip in tow, should come with many key photography features such as the Portrait mode, Depth Control, and all six Portrait Lighting effects.
On the other hand, the new iPhone SE 2020 features another single 7MP front-facing camera on the phone top bezel. The selfie camera is also capable of producing portrait mode effects.
Other Crucial Features
Apple’s budget-friendly iPhone SE 2020 also comes with a mix of classic and modern features. At the helm of this list is the inclusion of the company’s Touch ID home button, which was last featured in the iPhone 8 series. Nevertheless, the company still managed to equip the device with support for 18W fast charging and Qi wireless charging.
Pricing and Availability
The lower-cost, 64GB iPhone SE is revealed to come with a price tag of $399, while the 128GB model will be offered for $449. The phone’s top-tier 256GB model will be priced at $549. The phone is set to become available for preorder on April 17, with its shipments projected to start on April 24.
The new iPhone SE 2020 will retail in three color variants – Black, White, and Product Red.
