There’s another good news for Apple and its ongoing iPhone 12 line-up. The new series sold more units in Gulf nations in Q4 of last year.
Newmarket research from IDC reveals that Apple shipped 55 percent more iPhone models in Gulf countries in the fourth quarter of 2020.
It’s a golden phase for the Cupertino-based tech company.
iPhone 12 line-up performing great in sales
In detail, iPhone 12 shipments in the Gulf region grew by 2.3 percent in the last quarter of 2020 to 2.26 million units. It was better than the third quarter.
Despite a rise in smartphone shipments last year, overall performance in the entire region was down compared to 2019’s Q4 period.
However, when it comes to Apple, the company witnessed 55 percent in iPhone shipments. The reason was simple, the iPhone 12 series, due to the 5G feature finally showing up.
Compared to the 11 series, its successors have gone ahead in Gulf countries in total sales.
Furthermore, IDC’s senior research analyst says that performance would have been even higher if it weren’t for shortages regarding Apple’s supply chain.
Talking about the bigger picture then Samsung is still ahead of Apple in the Gulf region. It has around 42 percent of the market share. However, it has come down by three percent from last year.
On the other hand, the California tech giant has 23 percent of the market share. It saw an increase of seven percent in 2020’s last quarter.
It means that things are going in a positive direction for the company.
Upcoming Apple announcements in 2021
Meanwhile, the iPhone maker is planning its 2021 slate for maintaining a great flow of success from last year.
Latest leaks have reported that Apple might reveal a new range of products in April. An event, which previously claimed to take place in March, is now rumored for next month.
When it comes to expectations and early speculations, then AirTags and AirPods Studio are strong contenders. Apple may reveal them in its first event of this year.
In June, there will be the WWDC, and just like 2020, it might happen mostly in a virtual format. The next software version, iOS 15, is going to be its main highlight.
Apple Watch line-up will get an upgrade as well in coming months, with supposedly new health-based functions. The Series 7 is expected to arrive with different variants as well.
Back to the iPhone then the next generation of Apple’s smartphones will release in late September.
Tech enthusiasts are looking forward to iPhone 13 to introduce fresh design with vital additions, of course.
Recent leaks have claimed that it might launch in the third or fourth week of September.
