The Vivo iQOO Z1 is set to become the first phone in the world to be equipped with MediaTek’s latest gaming-oriented SoC.
A day after it bagged its 3c certification, iQOO has finally announced that its Z1 smartphone is scheduled to become official on May 19. The newest development follows MediaTek’s teasing of its latest Dimensity 1000+ chip which would be equipped in an iQOO smartphone.
Display cutout with 144Hz refresh rate
While iQOO did not reveal any specifications on its upcoming Z1 phone, its post came with a slew of posters that outed some of its key specifications. Apart from the flagship chip from MediaTek, the post also shared that the phone would arrive with a fast 5G connectivity, an “unrestrained screen” which suggests an all-screen one, and a strong battery life.
In terms of design, the forthcoming iQOO Z1 phone is also tipped to come with cutout on its display, one that should house its selfie snapper. The handset’s screen is also rumored to feature a high-profile 144Hz refresh rate. This shouldn’t be a surprise as Vivo already mentioned this development.
Other key features
Other potential display features that could debut with the iQOO Z1 include the Dimensity 1000+’s Mira Vision tech. The feature is meant to provide HDR10+ support, alongside real-time 4K video quality optimization.
The phone’s massive battery is likewise speculated to be equipped with support for 44W fast wired charging. This feature is also seen in the phone’s recent 3C listing.
Other key features of the iQOO Z1 are still to be revealed, but the phone could launch with an LCD panel. This could be true as the phone was seen with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, which also doubles as its power button.
Dimensity 1000+ chip
MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+, which was also unveiled recently, should offer plenty of firsts on the iQOO Z1 phone. For instance, the chip comes with 5G UltraSave which effectively reduces the power usage of the modem. The chip also comes with low and high bandwidth modes, which should switch between them dynamically, depending on which is needing.
The chip also features the HyperEngine 2.0. The technology is tasked to scale the CPU and GPU frequencies while managing the RAM and wireless connection as well.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC, like the vanilla edition, is also based on a 7nm process with four Cortex-A77 cores and four A55 cores. It also boasts a Mali-G77 MP9 GPU
