Jeff Lowe and his wife, Lauren Lowe, got involved in an alleged DUI in Oklahoma City.
Jeff Lowe and Lauren Lowe suffered from a massive headache again after officials asked them to pull over. Per multiple news outlets, the authorities arrested the couple following alleged DUI charges.
Jeff also received a charge for improperly changing lanes during the recent incident. This report confirmed that the 56-year-old was driving the vehicle at that time.
The police officers then sent them into custody around 4:00 am on Saturday.
What crime Jeff, Lauren Lowe committed?
In a separate report obtained by PEOPLE, the officers saw a white Range Rover as it pulled out a parking lot. It then drove over a curb before stopping quickly.
From there, Lauren got out of the driver’s seat, allowing Jeff to take over driving.
The police tried to chase them. However, Jeff illegally changed his lane before pulling over. Soon after the officers talked to them, they noticed how the couple exhibit slurred speech. A strong odor of alcoholic beverages was also noticeable.
The arresting officer then conducted a sobriety test as part of the early investigation. Jeff, unfortunately, failed to pass the test due to “unsteadiness on his feet and his inability to follow directions.”
Meanwhile, the authorities scheduled them for a breathalyzer test at the police headquarters. The result said that his alcohol level was around 0.18 which is more than double the limit.
The report noted that Lauren also failed the sobriety test.
Currently, the couple still stays in custody in a detention center around Oklahoma.
More violations by Jeff, Lauren
The DUI arrests only came two weeks after the two, allegedly, violated the Endangered Species Act (ESA). An investigation at the Tiger King Park in Thackerville found out the possible animal mistreatment.
The U.S. Department of Justice released an official statement in May confirming that over 68 animals were seized. The number includes lions, jaguars, and tigers, among others.
Since December 2020, officials have conducted three inspections of the zoo. The couple, reportedly, failed to provide adequate and timely care to the animals.
Both Jeff and Lauren also failed to hire a veterinarian as part of the Animal Welfare act.
“Jeff tells me to share with you to ‘Watch Tiger King 2 for the real story, not the story made up by a corrupt DOJ,’” Jeff’s attorney, Walter Mosley, said.
