Jennifer Aniston, allegedly, broke down in tears last year because of her co-star, Matthew Perry.
According to Now to Love, the cast of Friends met up at the HBO Max headquarters to pitch their ideas for the reunion. However, things quickly turned sour after Matthew Perry rejected all the suggestions being thrown around.
Matthew Perry kept shunning ideas during ‘Friends’ meeting
A source, who claimed to know details about the private meeting, said that Perry told his co-stars that he’s disappointed with their ideas.
The actor also, allegedly, told the writers that he was not impressed with what he heard.
However, Perry was the only one who disliked the ideas being thrown around during the meeting. So, none of his co-stars backed him up.
Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston react to Matthew Perry’s rage
At one point, the actor felt that everyone was ganging up on him because no one echoed his sentiments. As such, Perry, allegedly, stormed out of the room in a fit of rage.
Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer didn’t run after Perry to try and console him. Rather, they encouraged the writers to remove him from the reunion.
They also suggested that if Perry needs to be there, they should at least consider limiting his exposure.
The heated back and forth between the Friends cast members, writers, producers, and directors left Aniston and Lisa Kudrow in tears.
“They were left devastated after the meeting that they thought would get the ball rolling ended up potentially destroying their reunion dream,” the source said.
The tabloid then blamed Matthew Perry for the delay in the production of the Friends reunion.
However, fans of the show know that Perry isn’t the one that caused the delay. Rather, it is the coronavirus pandemic.
Perry and his co-stars all signed up for the reunion special. And they were supposed to start filming last summer. However, a lockdown was imposed in the United States.
Gossip Cop also said that it’s unlikely for Perry to have been written out of the reunion episode. After all, he recently told fans that the Friends special will air on 2021.
“Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!” Matthew Perry tweeted earlier this month.
