According to Who, Jennifer Aniston decided to reach out to John once again amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Friends star, reportedly, realized that life is short, and she wants her relationship with her dad to be the best that it can be.
“Jennifer didn’t speak to him for ages. But since the coronavirus crisis, she has been on the phone almost every day. And not just brief conversations. He’s thrilled they have reconciled,” a source said.
During her interview with Rolling Stone, Aniston recounted the time when her mom, Nancy Dow told her that her dad won’t be coming home for some time.
The Morning Show star came home from a party and her mom broke the news to her. Aniston said that she doesn’t remember much of what her mom said. All she remembers is she broke down in tears and didn’t see her dad for a year.
After a year-long absence from her life, John phoned his daughter and invited her to watch a movie. Aniston agreed to join her dad and her emotions were all over the place.
During their reunion, John explained everything to Jennifer Aniston. He also apologized to his daughter. But shortly after they rekindled their relationship, Aniston had a falling out with her dad again.
Aniston also had a falling out with her mom after Dow published a tell-all book about their strained relationship. The book, reportedly, led to a 15-year feud with her daughter. Aniston and Dow patched things up shortly before the latter’s death in 2016.
“No matter how complicated and difficult the relationship between Nancy and Jennifer may have been, it is heartbreaking for any daughter to lose her mother. Nancy fought a very long battle, with many ups and downs, and Jennifer is grateful for the happy times they shared towards the end,” a source said.
During a previous interview, Aniston said that she no longer blames her parents for what they did.
Aniston also made headlines this week amid reports that the filming for the Friends one-off special will push through this summer.
Bob Greenblatt said that the filming will push through if the lockdown in the United States has been lifted.
“We would have loved to have had it on [HBO Max on] Day One, but at the same time, if we can get it launched in the fall, I think it’ll be something that we can have the audience really looking forward to as well,” he told Variety.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and Lisa Kudrow have all signed to return for the special.
