Jennifer Aniston has reportedly put the past behind her after forgiving her father for abandoning her as a child.
This follows after a source close to John said that Jennifer has been reflecting on life in the midst of the global pandemic.
Phone calls everyday
Jennifer has already forgiven her father a long time ago for leaving their family. She was around 10 years old at that time. But during that period, there were ups and downs in their relationship.
The source said that Jennifer has not spoken to her father for a long time. But when the pandemic happened, she has been on the phone with him almost everyday.
The source also detailed how their phone calls weren’t just brief conversations. It appears that Jennifer has let go of the past and is willing to reconcile with her father.
“It’s like she has realized life is very short and she wants her relationship with John to be the best it can be,” said the source.
As for the Greek-American soap opera actor, the source said that he is thrilled to be reconciled with his daughter.
Past of Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer’s strained relationship with her father has been an open book for many years already.
It has affected her so much that she had to go to years of therapy to cope with the abandonment issues she had.
John, who is an actor of soap opera Days of Our Lives, left his model wife Nancy Aniston in November 1979.
Jennifer, now 51, recalled the moment her father never came home. She had come back from a birthday party when her mother said that her father wasn’t going to be around for a little while.
“She didn’t say he was gone forever. I don’t know if I blocked it, but I just remember sitting there, crying, not understanding that he was gone,” Jennifer said.
The Just Go With It star said that her father was gone for a year until one day he called and asked her to go see a movie. From then on, she saw him on weekends.
Their daughter-father relationship had been a rollercoaster ride for most parts but things have been different since the coronavirus crisis.
The source said that Jennifer Aniston has been an amazing daughter since the outbreak, checking in on her father. And though they are not allowed to see each other, they have been talking more in the past few weeks.
