Thank you to all the brilliant and beautiful women in my life who sent the most uplifting messages today. Truth be told, I don’t really understand this #challengeaccepted thing…but who doesn't love good reason to support women! Soooo…. challenge accepted! ⠀ ⠀ And while I have you here, maybe the best way we can support other women is to REGISTER TO VOTE for the issues that affect women. Encourage all your friends, girlfriends, sisters, moms, daughters to do the same. The election is right around the corner, and we need to look out for each other AND love each other! 👩🏽🤝👩🏻👩🏻🤝👩🏼👭🏽👩🏿🤝👩🏼❤️
She also reminded other women to register their vote for the issues that affect women. Aniston ended her message by encouraging her followers to tell their friends, girlfriends, sisters, moms, and daughters to do the same in the coming election.
“We need to look out for each other AND love each other,” she concluded.
Jennifer Garner sends love to all women
“I’m sending love back to you and heaps to all women looking after their sisters. That’s how it’s done, ladies [heart emoji],” she wrote in the caption.
Other celebrities who accepted the challenge
Aside from Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Garner, more female celebrities accepted the Women Supporting Women challenge.
Kristen Bell, Nicole Kidman, Gabrielle Union, Viola Davis, and even Ivanka Trump shared photos of them to join the challenge. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, Octavia Spencer, and Cindy Crawford were also all up for the challenge.
What’s behind the new Instagram Challenge
The challenge aims to promote positivity and female empowerment. However, it is unclear how the challenge started.
According to CNN, women nominate each other to post monochrome photos of themselves that they feel confident about. The publication likened it to the Dolly Parton challenge, where users share four different headshots of themselves that they use on different social media sites.
Ava Duvernay, the director of “Selma,” accepted the challenge. In her caption, she wrote, “this is just a cool excuse to post pix,” but she is not backing down with the challenge.
