Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux parted ways two years ago, but there were many lies before their split announcement.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux married in 2015. Less than years later, the then-couple announced their separation. What happened along the way before the split announcement?
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux marital feud rumors
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux share a great relationship. She found her new love in Theroux years after her divorce from Brad Pitt. However, in 2017, there were already rumors that their marriage had hit rock bottom.
An insider claimed that the couple couldn’t agree where to live. Aniston preferred Los Angeles. However, her then-husband would rather settle down in New York. It reportedly caused a strain in their relationship.
Several sources denied the rumors
Several insiders spoke about the couple’s relationship at the time. All of them claimed that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s relationship was doing fine despite their different preferences. They were reportedly going strong.
“She prefers L.A. He has a fondness for New York, but they knew that about each other from the beginning and decided it wasn’t an issue. It doesn’t mean they’re splitting up,” a source told Us Weekly weeks in December 2017.
Another source told People days before the split announcement that Theroux and Aniston found a way that works for them. Their marriage was reportedly better off without them spending every moment together.
“They love and respect each other and do spend a lot of time apart. For them, it is a healthy part of their romance.”
Aniston celebrated her birthday without Theroux
In 2018, Aniston celebrated her 49th birthday with her friends Courtney Cox, Andrea Bendewald, Leigh Kilton-Smith, and Kristin Hahn.
Meanwhile, her husband, Justin Theroux, was noticeably missing from the celebration. Several were wondering where Aniston’s spouse was.
Some claimed that Theroux didn’t join them because it was an all-girls celebration.
Shocking split announcement
Just days after Jennifer Aniston’s birthday, the couple announced their separation.
“In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation,” Aniston and Justin Theroux wrote.
“This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
Sources lied about the couple
Apparently, the sources who claimed that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s marriage was going strong lied. The couple separated at the end of 2017 and months before they confirmed their split.
Nevertheless, the exes are true to their words that they still care for each other. Aniston and Theroux even spend Thanksgiving in 2019 together.
