Jennifer Aniston was, allegedly, forced to lose 30 pounds before she joined the cast of Friends.
In the book Generation Friends: An Inside Look At the Show That Defined a Television Era, author Saul Austerlitz said that Jennifer Aniston faced tons of pressure with her weight and looks.
Aniston was, reportedly, urged to lose 30 pounds if she wanted to stay in Hollywood.
There was also a time when Aniston was asked to go to her audition wearing a leotard. And the actress was, reportedly, worried that she won’t get the job because she didn’t fit the mold.
Jennifer Aniston didn’t have a healthy lifestyle years ago
In 1996, the actress shared her frustrations about the industry during her interview with Rolling Stone.
“The disgusting thing of Hollywood—I wasn’t getting lots of jobs ’cause I was too heavy. I was like, ‘What?’ My diet was terrible. Milkshakes and French fries with gravy. It was a good thing to start paying attention,” she said.
Jennifer Aniston workout
Aniston, who’s now in her 50s, has also been working out a lot with the help of her personal trainer, Leyon Azubuike. The co-owner of Gloveworx told Women’s Health that the Friends star works out every day for an hour to an hour and a half.
Where we are in a cycle dictates the duration and intensity of Jen’s workout. “If I know Jen isn’t filming anything, it’s a different phase than if I know she’s going to be walking up to receive an award—I’m not going to destroy her legs in the gym the day before,” Azubuike said.
The actress’s personal trainer shares Jennifer’s exercise routine
The personal trainer said that since he and Jennifer Aniston have very busy schedules, they grab every chance they must break a sweat.
“If she has a shoot at 3 a.m. and we need to work out before that, let’s go…we respect each other in that regard, so it’s a constant back and forth with mutual respect and understanding. She definitely should be commended, because when I get into go mode, I’m in go mode,” he said.
While speaking with People in 2005, Aniston revealed that she loves yoga. She also said that she loves mixing up her workouts. Azubuike said the same things years later.
“We box, we jump rope, we do strength training, we do a lot of work with resistance bands – we’re big on resistance bands. We rotate these things so it’s always hard, she’s consistently being challenged—I’m a big fan of switching things up, so the body reacts in a positive way and changes,” he said.
Jennifer Aniston continues to follow her workout regimen amid the coronavirus pandemic. She recently shared a self-portrait on her yoga mat after breaking out too much sweat.
