Jennifer Aniston, reportedly, refused to put all the blame on Brad Pitt after their divorce.
Even though a lot of people were saying that Pitt cheated on Jennifer Aniston with Angelina Jolie, the Friends actress still took accountability for her own mistakes.
While speaking with Vanity Fair, Aniston stressed the fact that relationships are about two people.
“Relationships are two people; everyone is accountable. A lot goes into a relationship coming together, and a lot goes into a relationship falling apart. [My therapist would] say, ‘Even if it’s 98 percent the other person’s fault, it’s 2 percent yours, and that’s what we’re going to focus on.’ You can only clean up your side of the street,” she said.
Jennifer Aniston went to therapy after her divorce
Aniston also revealed that she went to therapy after her marriage to Pitt ended.
“I believe in therapy; I think it’s an incredible tool in educating the self on the self, “I feel very strong. I’m really proud of how I’ve conducted myself. I don’t feel like a victim. I’ve worked with this therapist for a long time, and her major focus is that you get one day of being a victim—and that’s it. Then we take responsibility for our own input,” she said.
According to The Independent, Jennifer Aniston and Pitt didn’t immediately get along well after their divorce. But over the years, the exes have patched things up.
Brad Pitt allegedly apologized to Jennifer Aniston
Earlier this year, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the Ad Astra actor already apologized to Aniston for all his mistakes.
“Brad is completely sober now and is in such a different place than he was when they were together. Brad is truly an introspective guy who has worked hard on himself. He has apologized to her for many things he felt were his issues in their relationship. He truly takes ownership of his mistakes and that has changed their relationship with each other today. They both have moved on,” the source said.
Brad, Jennifer didn’t get back together
Aniston and Pitt sparked rumors that they would get back together around the same time that the story on the actor’s apology was published. But until today, the exes haven’t gotten back together. And by the looks of it, they will always stay just as friends.
While speaking with E! News, Melissa Etheridge said that she’s confident Aniston and Pitt will always be friends.
“Oh, you know what? I loved Brad and Jen together, they were beautiful. I believe they will always remain, friends, because they’re two very special people that can get through anything. I just hope that their friendship lasts,” she said.
