Jennifer Aniston shared that her friends approved of Brad Pitt after learning that they were dating.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt dated and married in 2000. However, they divorced five years later. But in a previous interview, Aniston spoke fondly of her ex-husband and how he got her friends’ approval.
Jennifer Aniston said her friends were supportive of Brad Pitt romance
In 2001, a year after Jennifer Aniston married Brad Pitt, she spoke about their relationship. According to The Morning Show star, her friends were supportive of her relationship with the Ad Astra actor.
“My friends were all supportive,” Aniston told Rolling Stone before adding, “especially when they found out what a loving human being Brad is.”
Aniston admitted that her close pals had some reservations at first. However, it only took minutes for them to see how great Pitt was as an individual.
“At first they’re like, ‘I hope he’s not an asshole, some conceited fuck or whatever,” Aniston continued.
“But you get past that in five minutes. Which is a real tribute to who he is. He just disarms you immediately. But, I mean, nobody went, ‘Dude. Brad Pitt!’ and gave me a thumbs up and a wink. They were just happy for me.”
Pitt and Aniston when they argue
Jennifer Aniston also sounded so content and happy with her marriage with Brad Pitt at the time. In fact, she shared how they handled arguments when they were still together.
“You know if there’s ever an argument, it’s not like you can go, ‘Screw you, I’m outta here!'” she continued.
“You’re there for the long haul. It’s a beautiful thing to actually realize that for the first time, to have that knowing. It takes the heat and the weight out of things.”
What went wrong before split
Four years later from the said interview, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt split. According to them, there was no third party.
However, many doubted it and believed that Angelina Jolie had something to do with the breakup.
Pitt and Jolie worked together for the action-comedy movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They had a great time working together. In fact, they couldn’t stop giggling while filming.
Also, in Jolie’s previous interview, she admitted that there was a time when she couldn’t wait to get to work to be with Pitt. Aniston found the revelation “uncool” because Pitt was still married to her at the time.
Aniston also confessed that Pitt became emotionally unavailable to her shortly after filming with Jolie. To make the matter worse, Jolie and Pitt were photographed in Kenya with Maddox just months after their split.
The Friends alum was furious after seeing their beach photos. She felt that Pitt was so insensitive to flaunt his newfound instant family so shortly after their separation.
