Being in showbiz for over three decades, actress Jennifer Aniston reveals a time when she thought of quitting.
Jennifer Aniston revealed that she has considered quitting Hollywood after one ‘unprepared’ project that ‘sucked the life’ out of her. The famous Friends star admitted that she has thought about leaving the industry behind and even saw it as a ‘fantasy’ over the last two years.
Jennifer Aniston’s happy place
The actress was asked when was the closest she had come to quitting Hollywood while talking to Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett on Monday’s Smartless podcast. She replied that it had crossed her mind for the last two years, which it never did before.
As for an alternate career option, “Interior design would probably be really a happy place for me,” Jennifer Aniston stated.
In particular, Jennifer added that one project got her thinking of quitting Hollywood, which happened before her award-winning Apple TV+ show The Morning Show in 2019.
She revealed that after a job she completed, she felt like that sucked the life out of her. And she doesn’t know if this is what interests her.
Jennifer further explained that they have all been a part of an unprepared project. The actress also revealed that the script was not fully ready, and she had to be on the project for a whole three months.
The said project came after Jennifer admitted in June that playing Rachel Green on Friends left her playing similar roles in Hollywood.
Jennifer said that she could not get Rachel Green off of her back
“I could not escape, ‘Rachel from Friends,’ and it was on all the time, and I was like, ‘Stop playing that show!'” Jennifer said.
Meanwhile, The Good Girl 2002, an independent movie, was the first time she got an opportunity to let go of her Rachel character, and the actress has revealed that it made a difference.
Jennifer added that she remembers the panic that set over her, thinking that she does not know if she can do this. “Maybe everybody else is seeing something I’m not seeing, which is you are only that girl in the New York apartment with the purple walls,” she quoted.
The actress also admitted that she was doing it for herself, that her career has always been about proving that she was more than that person. She concluded by saying she has started caring less and started enjoying her freedom as she is getting older.
