Jennifer Aniston played the role of Rachel Green in Friends for ten years.
So, when it was finally time to move on, Jennifer Aniston struggled a bit to let go of her character.
Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal movie
Before the series wrapped up in 2004, Aniston was cast in The Good Girl opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. During her interview on Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston said that this was the project that convinced her she can portray more characters other than Rachel.
“I could not get Rachel Green off my back for the life of me. I could not escape…. just Rachel from Friends, Rachel from Friends. It was The Good Girl that was the first time I got to just sort of really shed whatever this little, like, Rachel character was. To be able to disappear into someone who was walking in those shoes was such a relief to me,” she said.
After starring in The Good Girl, Aniston managed to prove to herself that she can do so much more.
Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly instrumental in Jennifer Aniston moving on from ‘Friends’
According to Yahoo! Entertainment, before The Good Girl, Aniston was panicked and terrified. But after starring in the movie with Gyllenhaal, she became more confident.
The publication can’t help but say that the actor must have contributed to Aniston’s confidence. After all, they played the role of a couple in the movie.
Jake Gyllenhaal had a crush on his co-star
Four years ago, Gyllenhaal told People that he had a crush on Aniston for years. As such, working with Jennifer Aniston wasn’t very easy.
“I was – um, yeah. That’s all I’m going to say. It was lovely. It wasn’t hard, that’s what I would say,” he said.
The actor also admitted that he was never a huge Friends fan. But he liked Aniston for who she is off-screen.
“Not so much Friends, but kind of her personality from afar, and movies she was in. And some of Friends – I’m not a huge Friends fan – but who she is,” he said.
Angelina Jolie allegedly slammed Jennifer
Aniston also made headlines this week amid claims she invited Angelina Jolie to dinner. The A-listers, allegedly, argued instead of having their much-needed peace talks.
The Friends star, allegedly, told Jolie that she and Brad Pitt are planning to take their six kids with them when they move in together.
Jolie was, allegedly, furious at Jennifer Aniston so she ended up telling the latter that Pitt will just get bored with her again.
