Jennifer Aniston election post on Instagram
On Friday, Jennifer Aniston shared a photo of her mailing her ballot on Instagram.
In her post, she announced that she voted for Joe Biden and Kamal Harris. She also directly criticized Donald Trump by writing, “Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue.”
Aniston also pointed out how Trump repeatedly and publicly ignored science blaming the POTUS for the high death toll amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Aniston also urged the people to vote responsibly and consider those who will be affected by the election the most.
Brad Pitt’s ex-wife also reminded everyone that the election is about the future of the country and equal human rights for love and for decency. She ended her election post by saying that it’s not funny to vote for Kanye West. So, voters should be responsible.
Twitter slammed Aniston
Many agreed with Jennifer Aniston’s post including her fellow celebrities Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts. However, many also did not approve of her suggestions especially about mentioning racism in the post.
“Interesting to see her comments about how president has made racism a non issue. It’s interesting, because she was on ‘Friends’, the 6 characters lived in NYC. ALL white. You mean to tell me there wasn’t a single person of color to befriend in a city the size of NYC???” one tweeted.
Aniston’s popular sitcom has been criticized over the years for its all-white cast. Meanwhile, another called out Aniston for telling the people how to vote.
“Woman please!!! Don’t tell people how to vote! You couldn’t even manage your finances or your relationship with Ross!” another Twitter user commented.
“Hey Jen, don’t tell other people how to vote. It’s not your business or your privilege,” another wrote.
Another fired back at Jennifer Aniston saying that she can vote whoever she wants, but the others’ opinion is just as important as hers because that’s democracy. So, she shouldn’t tell anyone who to vote.
