Jennifer Aniston did not make a “sneak attack” against Angelina Jolie for accepting a role in Marvel’s The Eternals, in contrast to reports.
Jennifer Aniston has no plans to make a Marvel movie, and her statement about Marvel had nothing to do with Angelina Jolie. However, Jolie’s Marvel entrance has sparked false rumors and fake rivalries, according to Gossip Cop.
Jennifer Aniston allegedly mocked Angelina for joining Marvel
In one interview, Jennifer Aniston told Variety that she had no interest in doing a Marvel movie. The Friends alum felt that they were “diminishing” the film industry. Instead, Aniston said she wanted to be part of compelling subject matter like The Morning Show over blockbusters.
Globe claimed Aniston’s statement was carefully worded “sneak attack” toward Jolie.
“She’s telling friends that everyone knows Angie’s just doing Eternals for the money,” the tabloid claimed.
However, Gossip Cop debunked the report. Aniston’s statement had nothing to do with Jolie’s casting, and the timing was purely coincidental.
Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston are often pitted against each other due to their common ground—being Brad Pitt’s ex-wives. Also, the two women have already moved on from the issue.
Aniston praised Unbroken, which was directed by Jolie. She also said the issues between her and Jolie were “tiresome and old.”
Jolie regrets snubbing Captain Marvel
Meanwhile, OK! claimed that Angelina Jolie was asked to direct and star Captain Marvel. She declined, and the Brie Larson landed the role, which elevated her career. Meanwhile, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck helmed the film.
An insider claimed the outlet Jolie had “major regret” for declining the offer. The source added she was jealous of Larson and her “golden girl” status.
A source for Jolie denied the report and said the allegations weren’t true.
Jolie linked to various men
Angelina Jolie and Chris Hemsworth appeared on Marvel Comic-Con panel and were very friendly. Their sighting immediately sparked rumors that she was ruining his marriage, which is not true at all.
Jolie and Hemsworth first made headlines when they were photographed during the 2018 Golden Globes. He told Ellen DeGeneres that the photo that circulates online was cropped. In the actual photo, Hemsworth was seated between Jolie and Taika Waititi.
He stressed that he and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are fans of Jolie. The Avengers star also joked that Elsa would be more jealous of Waititi than Jolie.
There Woman’s Day also alleged that Jolie wanted to work with Keanu Reeves for her Marvel movie. The tabloid claimed that she wanted to “mix business with pleasure.”
Again, the report was not true. Jolie is not that unprofessional to demand an actor to work with. Also, Marvel does not consult the cast about casting. A source close to Jolie just laughed off when asked about the story.
