Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s split over a decade ago sparked rumors that he left her because she didn’t want kids. On the contrary, Aniston had baby plans before they separated.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were a perfect couple when they were together. She was America’s sweetheart while he was the Sexiest Man Alive. Many were heartbroken when they announced their separation.
Jennifer Aniston had baby plans
Jennifer Aniston received intense backlash with some blaming her when she and Pitt split. There were rumors that Pitt left her because Aniston didn’t want to have kids. So, he decided to dump her.
In contrast to reports, Aniston wanted to have kids with her then-husband. In fact, she shared her plans in her previous interview with Guardian in 2004.
At the time, Pitt and Aniston were occupying a six-bedroom house and her hit sitcom Friends was wrapping up. When asked about the prospect of having babies she gave a positive response.
“Yeah,” Aniston said with directness.
“It’s time. It’s time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I’m just truly looking forward to slowing down.”
Aniston didn’t give timelines but the baby was on the cards
Jennifer Aniston declined to set a timetable as to when the world could expect her little one with Brad Pitt. However, she was very cooperative when it comes to doing the math on what they had for that year.
“I’ll have finished Friends by end of January, he’ll be finishing [Mr and Mrs Smith, opposite Angelina Jolie] at the end of February,” Aniston shared.
“Then he starts Ocean’s Twelve. So I, thankfully, will be able to go and travel with him while he’s doing that.”
Pitt became unavailable for Aniston
Jennifer Aniston said she met Angelina Jolie before the latter started filming with Brad Pitt. It was their only encounter.
She pulled off and introduced herself to the Maleficent star. She also wished them to have a “really good time.”
Unfortunately, when the two started filming, Pitt changed and became emotionally unavailable to her. She was going through a hard time due to separation anxiety as Friends was about to finish.
Aniston attempted to seek her husband’s support. However, she didn’t receive it.
“It was hard to have such a wonderful constant in your life, a place to go every day, and then all of a sudden it’s not there,” Aniston said about her sitcom.
“He just wasn’t there for me,” she added referring to Pitt.
