Jennifer Lawrence allegedly wants to replace Jimmy Kimmel on Live after temporarily taking over the host, according to a tabloid.
Jennifer Lawrence guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2017. The Hunger Games star interviewed Kim Kardashian, and their conversation was entertaining and fun. Three years later, one outlet claimed that Lawrence wants the job and wanted to take over.
However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because there is not enough evidence to support the claim.
Jennifer Lawrence allegedly wants to replace Jimmy Kimmel
OK! published a report a month ago claiming that Jennifer Lawrence wanted to replace Jimmy Kimmel on his show. It quoted unnamed sources who alleged that Lawrence is into hosting gig but doesn’t want to make it so obvious that she loves it.
It also mentioned Kimmel’s black face controversy and implied that he might be replaced due to the scandal.
“Jen adores Jimmy, but this would be a dream job for her. She’s making it discreetly known that her hat’s in the ring if the gig comes up,” the source said.
The outlet also mentioned the positive reviews that Lawrence received after guest-hosting the show and how willing she is to replace Kimmel for good.
“It was one of the most acclaimed things she’s ever done she’s ever done. If asked to fill on for him again, especially on a more permanent basis, Jen would do it in a heartbeat,” the dubious source added.
Jimmy Kimmel is not leaving the show, Gossip Cop reported. As he mentioned in his announcement, he was just taking a break. He wanted to have some family time.
In fact, he will be returning on Sept. 21. Also, Kimmel and Lawrence are friends, so it’s unlikely that she would want to replace him on his show.
Moreover, with OK! Magazine’s reputation for publishing articles based on the statements of its undependable sources, this could be another groundless claim waiting to be debunked. So, avid followers of the couple should take these hearsays lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
Jimmy Kimmel announcement revisited
Jimmy Kimmel announced in June that he is taking a leave from the show. In his announcement, he made it clear that nothing was wrong, he just wants to enjoy some downtime with his family.
“Tonight is my last new show for the summer. I’m taking the summer off to take even more time with my family. I’ve been doing this job for almost 18 years, I’ve done 3,130 shows. There’s nothing wrong, I’m healthy, my family’s healthy, I just need a couple of months off,” he said.
