Jill Biden and her husband, President Joe Biden, are in the U.K. They recently met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie Johnson. Many have been following Jill’s outfit when she became the first lady of the United States. In her most recent outing, many noticed that her dress was similar to what Ivanka Trump wore in a previous engagement.
The U.S. president and first lady met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie Johnson, Thursday. Jill Biden was gorgeous in her black and white polka dot dress by Brandon Maxwell. She also wore a black Zadig & Voltaire blazer with the word “LOVE” outlined in rhinestones across the back.
While there were many speculations about the message Jill was sending through her jacket, Jason Miller noticed something else. The former chief spokesman for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 noticed that Jill’s dress was similar to Ivanka Trump’s.
The first daughter also wore a black and white polka dot dress in 2018. Ivanka was photographed wearing the said outfit while leaving 10 Downing street for a meeting.
Twitter users immediately reacted to Miller’s tweet. Many of them preferred Jill’s style over Ivanka. However, some of them also sided with the former first daughter.
One user said Jill “looks classy” while Ivanka “makes everything look trashy.”
Another online user felt that Ivanka looked big on her dress, but Jill looked great on it.
A different netizen also sarcastically responded to the comparison. “Yes. Black polka dots on a white background are so rare. I’ll bet Jill called Ivanka for her advice on what to wear to England,” the netizen wrote.
Meanwhile, some also joked and mocked Miller for commenting on Jill Biden’s outfit and comparing it to Ivanka Trump. One wondered if he was already a fashion critic and asked him what else he does.
Royal correspondent Kate Bennett explained the difference between the two outfits. According to her, Ivanka’s dress was designed by Burberry, and it was a fashion homage to one of U.K.’s most iconic labels.
On the other hand, Jill was wearing a version of Brandon Maxwell’s dress. She also noted that Maxwell is one of Jill’s go-to designers.
