John Cena delivered shocking news during his reappearance on Monday Night Raw.
After a long hiatus, Monday Night Raw came back with its episode, surprising their viewers by inviting John Cena.
Cena, who also attended Sunday’s Money In The Bank, made the crowd go wild by cheering them live.
“Finally, we can come back and cheer together. And boo together. And make some noise and connect with people that love this,” he told the Dallas crowd.
Although he has a full schedule in Hollywood, the wrestler-turned-actor disclosed his summer plans, including his most-awaited return to the WWE.
According to Cena, he came back on the Monday episode to announce his return for the WWE Universal Championship. She also hinted that the event, which they called SummerSlam, will happen five weeks from the Monday episode.
What event Cena is referring to?
After going on a hiatus, Cena will come back during the main event at SummerSlam on August 21. The anticipated scene will be held in Las Vegas.
He also disclosed that Reigns will be his contender.
“Roman Reigns is an arrogant, self absorbed, over-hyped, over-protected, over-exposed gimmick,” he said. “And that, that is coming from me.”
His last event was during WrestleMania 34 in 2018. After the event, he started putting his focus on his growing career as an actor in Hollywood.
If he wins the match, he would add another trophy to the 21 championships he already won. Sixteen of his current record are from world championships. Cena also became the World Heavyweight Championship thrice.
As of the writing, he is still the fourth wrestler who has the highest number of days as a WWE champion. Conquering the first three on the list are Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, and Bruno Sammartino.
His return came after he revealed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon about his plans on appearing in the ring again. Meanwhile, Cena also shared a photo of the WWE logo on Instagram, explaining that he was only feeling nostalgic about his past career.
Apart from Cena, Riddle also hinted about Goldberg’s appearance on the Monday episode. The two share ugly beef ever since Riddle slammed his co-wrestler’s capability.
The issue first began when they met in the backstage during the SummerSlam in 2019. At that time, people inside the waiting room, reportedly, saw him as someone disrespectful.
