The Matrix 4 announces its official cast, which includes Keanu Reeves. Furthermore, the movie has been revealed to premiere on May 21, 2021.
The Matrix has been a massive film series, however, its reign was short-lived. Between the years 1999 and 2003, three movies from this franchise premiered. These were entitled The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions.
Fortunately, no film franchise in Hollywood is ever dead unless announced. Previously, Warner Bros. has announced its partnership with Village Roadshow to produce The Matrix 4.
The Matrix 4 reveals official cast
Along with the aforementioned announcement comes the primary list of the cast which will return for the fourth installment. This includes Keanu Reeves’ Neo, Carrie Anne-Moss’ Trinity, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Niobe, and Lambert Wilson’s Merovingian.
Furthermore, the show has added more stars to its cast. The Matrix 4 will witness Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, and Ellen Hollman.

Chad Stahelski teases The Matrix 4
Chad Stahelski, famous for helming John Wick, was tasked as the stunt coordinator of the upcoming film. He will work with Lana Wachowski, who was appointed as the movies’ director.
Stahelski has been very kind in giving fans updates about The Matrix 4. Recently, he revealed that he would bring to life some new and exciting action scenes in the next installment. Moreover, he shared that audiences can expect a movie that gives fans exactly what they want out of the franchise.
The coordinator further complimented his co-staff Lana Wachowski. At the same time, he offered a sneak peek of what was going on behind the scenes of The Matrix 4. Stahelski stated,
“The ideas she came to us with were, you know, not only were they cool, but they were fun. If you love the Matrix trilogy, you’re going to love what she’s doing because she’s brilliant and fun and understands what the fans want.”
The Matrix 4 storyline
The production team and the network remains tight-lipped about the major storylines of the upcoming movie. However, there have been rumors circulating that the film will be set in a video game in the world of the machines. It appears that the film will be another fabricated tale to keep the world engrossed in another enslaving device.
This rumored plot point has come from alleged audition tapes for The Matrix 4. Nevertheless, either the studio or the staff of the forthcoming film has not given any comments about these speculations.
The Matrix 4 production status and release date
The movie started principal photography at the beginning of February in San Francisco However, filming paused in the middle of March due to the pandemic. Hence, the team ought to commence rolling cameras again in July.
The Matrix 4 is slated to premiere on May 21, 2021. Nevertheless, given the current health threat caused by COVID-19, this release date is subject to change.
