A new Batman movie
Michael Keaton is, reportedly, in early talks to reprise his role as Batman in the DC Extended Universe. According to We Got This Covered, there are reports that he may once again don the iconic black cape in The Flash movie in 2022.
However, there are also hearsays that he may join Batman Beyond that Warner Bros. has been planning to do. Aside from the 68-year-old actor, the film may feature another A-list star to be his villain.
Famous leaker Mikey Sutton and other people at Midnight’s Edge revealed that Tim Burton would helm the new Batman film. If this happens, his long-time collaborator, Johnny Depp, can join the movie and play the Joker role.
It isn’t the first time that the 57-year-old actor is eyed to play as the Gotham’s Clown Prince. There have been longstanding rumors that he may take the iconic role in Matt Reeve’s Batman trilogy.
“[We’ve] been hearing about discussions for Johnny Depp as the Joker so much lately that he was convinced they were targeting him for Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy,” Sutton said. “That might not be the case.”
“They haven’t negotiated with Depp yet,” he added. “But WB [could be] planning on nabbing him for Batman Beyond as the world’s most famous psychotic clown.”

Johnny Depp as the Joker
DC has featured a lot of Joker actors before, and they are all imposing. Fans have seen Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Cameron Monaghan to play the role.
Most recently, Joaquin Phoenix gains attention for perfectly bringing to life the said character. So, will they pass the crown to Johnny Depp to be the next supervillain?
Although there are a lot of rumors that he may be the next Joker, nothing has been confirmed yet.
However, when the digital artist BossLogic made fan art of the actor, he showed he is the perfect guy for it. Cinemablend noted he used a photo from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald to make the image.
Will DC consider BossLogic’s work to make Johnny Depp as the new Joker? It looks like fans still have to wait for Batman Beyond’s announcement to see if the actor can make it.
