Josiah Duggar and Lauren’s marital union was doomed. An insider claimed that Jim Bob Duggar forced Josiah into marrying Lauren.
A source told The Hollywood Gossip that the father and son do not have a good relationship because of Josiah’s rebellious attitude. Josiah was allegedly so defiant that the 19 Kids and Counting patriarch wanted to get rid of him by forcing him to get married.
Jim Bob initially wanted Josiah to marry Marjorie Jackson, but the two broke up. He reached out to another family friend with ultra-conservative values and ended up having Lauren for Josiah.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar allegedly disowned Jinger Duggar after moving to Los Angeles with her husband Jeremy Vuolo. They don’t want to lose another kid, so they want to control Josiah.
“You’re gonna notice that [Josiah and Jim Bob] are gonna drift apart,” the source said.
“Josiah has stuck with his dad only for the money. It’s all about money for Josiah. He’s crazy as a ran-over dog.”
Since Josiah was allegedly only forced to marry Lauren, the insider treated their relationship as transactional. The source added that their marriage would eventually end in divorce.
Lauren’s dad, Dwain Swanson is nice. In fact, he came up from Georgia to attend their wedding.
Also, Dwain considers his children’s opinion. In fact, he consulted Lauren about Josiah, but the latter had no say about his marriage. Jim Bob forced the marriage to get rid of him.
“How that marriage came about, Jim Bob made some sort of deal with Dwain and said, ‘We’ve got to do something about Josiah because he’s nuts; he’s totally nuts,” the source said.
Thus, the insider was convinced that their marriage won’t work.
“To be honest with, you I don’t look for that marriage to last,” the source added.
However, one should take the report with a grain of salt. Although Josiah is rebellious, he seems very much in love with his wife.
On Nov. 8, 2019, the Counting On stars welcomed their baby girl Bella Milagro Duggar. Lauren went through a difficult labor, but according to her, the pain went away after Bella’s arrival.
In February, Josiah shared photos of him with Lauren during his proposal to commemorate their engagement anniversary. In the caption, he expressed his joy in marrying her.
“I can’t believe it’s been two years ago today that I asked Lauren to marry me… you can guess what she said… These years have been the best years I’ve had in my whole life. -Si,” he wrote.
