Joy-Anna Duggar is following sister Jill
Joy-Anna Duggar grew up under the limelight. The Duggars are very popular in 19 Kids and Counting.
The show documented their lives and how their parents Jim Bob and Michelle raised their 19 children. Both are very traditional and religious and using contraceptives is a big no-no in their household. The show was only taken down due to Josh Duggar’s scandal.
Due to the success of the said show, TLC gave the family another reality show Counting On but without Josh.
However, according to The Sun, Joy-Anna is leaving the reality show. Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard were the first to announce their departure from the series.
Joy-Anna has lesser exposure on the show
According to the publication, Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, don’t have a storyline in the new season of Counting On. Moreover, the couple only appeared in group settings.
That’s not all, Joy-Anna and Austin who are expecting their second child together were noticeably missing in the promo for the new season.
These things got fans wondering about Joy-Anna’s fate in the show. It also made some conclude that they were leaving the series just like her older sister.
Jill’s husband vs Jim Bob Duggar
Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, is at odds with the Duggar patriarch, Jim Bob. In his previous statements, Derick said that they left the show to “avoid toxic relationships” and “regain control.”
According to Derick, when they were still under Jim Bob, they couldn’t speak about their lives without his approval. This includes their personal milestone like pregnancy, engagement, weddings and the likes.
“We weren’t even allowed to be the first ones to announce our own life events — our marriage, expecting our baby, our genders of our children, our births — not by our own choice,” Derick said.
He added that they were never paid for their appearance on the show. Instead, Jim Bob receives all the pay from TLC.
Derick also shared that they could not visit the Duggar family home without Jim Bob’s approval. In fact, there was a time when Jill’s sister who was pregnant needed help.
Jill wanted to be there to assist her sibling. However, they couldn’t just go there without informing the Duggar patriarch and without his go signal.
Jill seemed to make a statement to support her husband over her dad. in a recent post on her Instagram Story, she shared a sign that hangs on the mirror of her car.
“No longer a slave to fear,” the message read.
