With the latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, the series reveals a terrible truth about Yuji Itadori’s parents!
The original manga series by Gege Akutami has been laying the groundwork for Yuji and Megumi’s full entry in Kenjaku’s Culling Game. The latest chapter of the series helps flesh out how the rest of the world reacted to the Jujutsu world, unleashing such a world-changing event on unsuspecting people.
The mystery behind Yuji’s parents
But there was a startling hint regarding Yuji’s real background in this investigation of how ordinary people are reacting to all of this craziness.
Yuji’s parentage has been one of the central mysteries of the story since we first met him, with just his grandpa as his only surviving family.

This mystery appeared to deepen when a previous episode of the series gave the first glimpse at Yuji’s parents, and now a wrench has been thrown into the mix that seems to corroborate a long-held fan hypothesis after that first glance. Because, as Kenjaku ominously asserts in the series’ most recent chapter, Yuji is his son.
Fans will be reunited with one of Yuji’s pals, Setsuko Sasaki, a member of the Occult Research group featured at the start of the series, in Chapter 160.
People who are unlucky enough to be imprisoned inside each of the Culling Game colonies when the tournament starts have the opportunity to leave before being compelled to participate, thanks to Kenjaku, who is still locked within Geto’s body.
He then leads her out of one of the colony gates, but not before saying, “Thank you for getting along with my son,” whom Sasaki assumes to be Yuji.
Unfortunately, given his control of sorcerers like Noritoshi Kamo and Geto, this hint that Kenjaku is Yuji’s true father makes a lot of sense.
Will the mysteries be solved in the culling game?
When Yuji’s parents were first seen, Yuji’s prospective mother seemed to be possessed by Kenjaku as well, since she had the same forehead stitching scars and had most likely given birth to Yuji. The issue today is why this was required in the first place.
It makes the fact that Yuji’s body could endure Sukuna all the more fascinating, especially if it were all part of Kenjaku’s larger plot.
This hint raises more concerns, and until it’s clearly stated that Yuji’s extremely strong physique and naturally powerful nature originate from Kenjaku, it’ll remain one of the big mysteries that will hopefully be revealed during the Culling Game.
