All eyes are now on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 after the first season ends with a big bang. Fans are pretty sure there will be a continuation to Itadori’s story, knowing the success the franchise has achieved.
It gets Crunchyroll’s Anime of the Year award, while Sukuna wins as the Best Antagonist. Its manga is also continuously making record sales, so MAPPA will surely not deprive fans with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s success will lead it to the second season
The franchise’s influence today can’t be denied with the number of cosplayers dressing up as Gojo, Itadori, and more.
According to Recent Highlights, the anime’s primary purpose is to boost manga’s sales, and it incredibly succeeds.
From 600,000, the manga sales went up to 30 million in just three years. However, though this may be one reason at play to make Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, it’s not enough.
The anime has no enough materials to do a second season. The manga has 150 chapters so far, and the first season’s 24 episodes may have covered up to chapter 75, leaving another 75 chapters behind.
Rumors have it the second season will adapt the Death Painting Arc, which is already up to 65 chapters. This will leave the next installment with just two arcs, which are also not enough.
So, it may take a long while before the second season comes.

The second season’s possible arc
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 may adapt the arc that fans have been expecting for so long, the Death Painting arc.
The news started swirling on Twitter, and it looks like it will be a dream come true for fans. So, what does this arc entail?
Comicbook noted the Death Painting arc would take fans to the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Here, fans will see their favorite lead characters together as they investigate a series of strange murders.
Each of the crimes has a connection to a mysterious curse, and it all takes place near Megumi’s hometown. His past also has something to do with the mysterious deaths that make it more intriguing.
This makes the second season hype as early as now. So, fans are now waiting if it will ever go live or adapt a different arc.
As everyone seems to be 100% sure that there will be Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, its release is another question. It may be a long waiting game before the new season drops, but it’s expected to be out in 2022.
