Fans are now wondering if there will be Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 now that the first season ends and a new movie is about to come.
The first season finale concluded with an open-ending for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 to continue. However, with the movie’s announcement, would Itadori’s story resume in a series or movie?
Reasons for the anime to continue
The first season showed an incredible success that increased the sales of Gege Akutami’s manga series.
The announcement of the movie’s coming also proves that producers have huge trust in the title to adapt it on the big screen.
According to Comicbook, the film will feature the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel events. This part of the story is truly a must-see after the revelations of Gojo’s Past the Shibuya Incident arcs.
These storylines may also be seen in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, though it is yet to reveal if it will push through.

A conclusion that sets up the second season
The anime’s first season officially ended in March, and it set up the events that might continue in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
It featured the fight of Itadori and Nobara against the two Cursed Womb brothers, Eso and Kechizu.
The protagonists perfectly showed everything they learned throughout the first season. CBR noted that it also unveiled the reason why Itadori was the series’ lead.
As Itadori was all ready to put Eso down, his future was already set by the superiors above him.
So what could it be? Would the second season reveal what’s waiting for Itadori?
Second season production, release date, and more
If Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will indeed push through, it may be possible fans will see it earlier than expected.
However, it still defends if Studio MAPPA’s production schedule will not be hectic, knowing it is also working on Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2.
If it can stick to its original production schedule, fans may finally see the continuation of Itadori’s story in fall 2022 or winter 2023.
However, fans should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt as Studio MAPPA is yet to officially announce the second season’s coming.
Anyhow, it looks like all the signs are pointing that the anime will continue and there will be Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. It’s also possible to resume through the announced new movie, though it may not be fitting knowing how its arcs flow.
