What is Oculus?
Oculus VR was founded by Palmer Luckey, Brendan Iribe, Michael Antonov, and Nate Mitchell in July 2012 in Irvine, California.
However, in March 2014, Oculus VR was acquired by the renowned Facebook Inc. for $2.3 billion in cash and stock. The deal included $400 million in cash and $23.1 million common shares of Facebook, valued at $1.6 billion, as well as an additional $300 million, assuming that Facebook will reach certain milestones.
As a result, the headquarters of Oculus VR got shifter from Irvine, California, to Menlo Park, the place where the Facebook headquarters are.
In 2015, the company acquired a British startup named Surreal Vision, which focused on 3D reconstruction and mixed reality, hence developing products with the idea of telepresence.
Later in November 2015, the company partnered with Samsung to develop Samsung Gear VR for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
Finally, in August 2010, Oculus Connect was renamed Facebook Connect.
Meanwhile, Facebook’s VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) was renamed Facebook Reality Labs.
Can you survive the Aftermath?
The Facebook acquired company released its announce trailer for its upcoming virtual reality game Jurassic World Aftermath, thrilling the viewers after watching the trailer.
The description we retrieved from the developers via the Oculus website is enough to get the people excited about the game.
From the developers, Jurassic World Aftermath is a suspenseful survival VR adventure with ferocious Velociraptors.
The ‘Thrilling’ Story
The story is something that has grabbed the attention of the critiques. Besides being crash-landed onto Isla Nublar, your character is stalked by Velociraptors everywhere. The only way to survive is to move fast while thinking quickly.
Moreover, innovative storytelling in the game is very impressive. As far as the developers have revealed, it has been two years since the fall of Jurassic World.
The mission is to recover valuable research materials from an abandoned research facility. However, the only hope of escape is to get confidential information before the Velociraptors get you.
To survive, you will need to explore the research facility, solve puzzles, and find ways to outsmart the ferocious Velociraptors stalking you everywhere—all in the same place in entirely mesmerizing VR.
Furthermore, vibrant cel-shaded visuals to enhance the intensity and the thrills really add a lot to the game.
