The makers of Jurassic World have postponed “Dominion” for more than a year. The director has revealed the first teaser poster with a new release date.
Jurassic World: Dominion is said to be one of the most awaited upcoming movies in Hollywood. Like many other big projects, the coronavirus pandemic will delay the film. Universal Pictures has given a new 2022 release date for the multi-star studded film.
“Jurassic World: Dominion” gets a new release date
The makers have announced the postponement of Jurassic World: Dominion by almost a year. Initially, the release of June 11, 2021 has been affected due to the pandemic. The movie will premiere in the theatres on June 10, 2022.
Director Colin Trevorrow told the news on his Twitter handle. The report also unveiled the first official teaser poster.

One can see the iconic Jurassic franchise logo on a round amber glass. The Logo is speculated to be a call-back to the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park. The filmmaker assured fans that the film would be worth the wait.
Other delays by Universal Pictures
Jurassic World: Dominion is just one of the many tent pole pushed by Universal Pictures.
The studio has previously shifted No Time to Die’s release date from November 2020 to April 2, 2021. The movie will mark Daniel Craig’s fifth and last movie as James Bond.
The production has also delayed the much-hyped film, F9: The Fast Saga. The scheduling was for April 2021. But the 25th Bond movie took its place. Fast and Furious nine will premier in theatres around May 28, 2021.
About the production and filming
Jurassic World: Dominion commenced the movie filming in February 2020 in Canada. It shifted to England in March 2020, where the production remained. The show then paused there due to the pandemic outbreak.
Thus, after a shutdown of around four months, the filming resumed in July 2020. Since then, production has taken extensive measures to ensure the cast and crew safety.
About the “Jurassic World” franchise
Jurassic World: Dominion is the third installment in the Jurassic World series. It also marks the sixth film in the Jurassic Park franchise. The film cast includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern. Complementing the extended model are Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon. These characters, alongside BD Wong, are returning to their names from the previous installment.
In addition, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, alongside Dichen Lachman and Scott Haze, will join the franchise.
Consequently, the project is a production by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, along with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly pen the story from a screenplay by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael. Universal Pictures will distribute the movie worldwide.
