Justin Timberlake is receiving flak for how he treated Britney Spears while they were still a couple.
Just recently, the exes three-year relationship laid bare in The New York Times’ documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
Justin Timberlake slammed over treatment towards Britney Spears
In the documentary, there were claims that Timberlake pushed Spears to do a lot of things to advance his own career.
There were also questions about the singer’s hit single, “Cry Me A River,” which became a massive success shortly after their split.
Following the song’s release, there were questions regarding Spears’ loyalty. After all, the track is about a woman cheating on her boyfriend.
Coincidentally, the woman featured in the music video looks a lot like the “Toxic” singer.
Timberlake never confirmed that the song was written about his ex-girlfriend. But he revealed that he wrote the track after he and Spears got into a massive fight.
Justin Timberlake criticisms
Following the release of the documentary, fans of Spears are urging Timberlake to apologize to the singer. They have also been bombarding his social media accounts with hate messages.
“Justin Timberlake’s career catapulted at the expense of Britney and to this day, he has yet to take ownership of his grotesque actions. Can we just talk about the fact Justin Timberlake bragged about taking Britney Spears [expletive] and it was applauded,” Spears’ fans wrote.
Janet Jackson disrespected by the NSYNC member
According to Woman’s Day, Justin Timberlake did a similar thing to Janet Jackson in 2004.
During her performance, Timberlake decided to tear a piece of the singer’s costume to expose her private part.
The incident resulted in Jackson’s career taking a nosedive. But Timberlake dismissed it as a joke. And it also, allegedly, advanced his career.
And it seems that Timberlake finally heard Spears and Jackson’s fans’ pleas.
“I’ve seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn or did not speak up for what was right,” he wrote.
Jackson also responded to the apology of Justin Timberlake by telling her fans how grateful she is for them.
