Kanye West is officially a billionaire after Forbes finally included him in the publication’s annual billionaires list. However, he is not satisfied with the report.
News sources reveal that Kanye West has provided documents to Forbes to prove that he is worth over $1 billion.
The publication, which is known for calculating the net worth of celebrities, estimated West with having a net worth of $1.3 billion.
West’s wealth
The estimation follows after a lengthy process of taking into account his assets, expenses and debts. He even surpassed his 22-year old sister-in-law Kylie Jenner by $300 million. Jenner has been a constant in the list, hailing her as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire in 2019.
But all eyes are on the rapper now primarily because of his line of Yeezy sneakers which had an estimated earning of $1.3 billion in revenue last year. Bloomberg also reported that his shoe brand was valued by Bank of America Corp. at $3 billion last year.
His collaboration with Adidas gave him royalties of over $140 million from sales last year. His other assets include his G.O.O.D record label, properties and land.
He and his reality TV star wife Kim Kardashian, reportedly, owns several properties across Los Angeles and Wyoming.
Kanye has long wanted to be part of the billionaires list. However, according to Forbes journalist Zack O’Malley, the hip-hop artist wasn’t labeled billionaire when he was featured on the cover of the magazine last year.
O’Malley explained that there was insufficient documentation to support his claim. They couldn’t put him in the annual billionaires list until they were given an “authentic numeric look into Kanye, Inc.”

Unsatisfied with the results
One might think that West must be very happy now after months of requesting from Forbes to include him on the list. After all, he has been fighting his way through just to be part of it.
That doesn’t seem to be the case though as sources say that he was unsatisfied with his newest title as a billionaire.

Forbes said that the entrepreneur and fashion designer insisted that they got the numbers all wrong. He claims to be actually richer than what the magazine says.
He reportedly texted the magazine to say: “It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”
Forbes only had few things to say to Kanye West on his surprising remark: “Welcome to the ten-digit club, Kanye. You may not like our number, but you’ve joined the highest company in that regard.”
