Kanye West recently confirmed that he wants to run for president. The Gold Digger rapper made the big announcement on Twitter on the Fourth of July. However, one source stepped forward to talk about his mental state.
Kanye West is suffering from bipolar
Kanye West is serious about his plans to join the presidential race. However, his announcement came amid a new cycle of his bipolar disorder when his behavior was very unpredictable.
“Kanye has been doing well for a long time. In the past, he has suffered both manic and depressive episodes related to his bipolar disorder. Right now, he is struggling again,” a source told People.
The insider claimed that Kim Kardashian is worried about her husband’s behavior. Kim in Los Angeles with their four children. Meanwhile, West is in Wyoming.
“Kim is concerned, as well as her whole family. It’s super stressful for Kim, because Kanye’s behavior is very unpredictable. She is worried,” the source added.
“The episodes usually last for a few weeks and then things go back to normal. Kim hopes it will be the same this time.”
What Kanye said about his condition?
Kanye West has opened up about his condition in one episode of David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. The rapper likened his condition to having a “sprained brain.“
“I can just tell you what I’m feeling at the time, and I feel a heightened connection with the universe when I’m ramping up. It is a health issue. This — it’s like a sprained brain,” he was quoted as saying by CBS News.
“With us, once our brain gets to a point of spraining, people do everything to make it worse.”

Kanye West’s presidential run announcement garnered various reactions on Twitter. Some speculated that his mental condition somehow affected his decision.
“Tweets like this a blinking red siren for anyone with any knowledge of mental health,” one wrote.
“Yes! Isn’t Kanye bipolar? No hate in regards to mental health. One of my brothers is bipolar and he still pulls this kind of BS every few years into our adult lives. It’s tiring,” another wrote.
Meanwhile, a different netizen who claimed to be a psychologist believed that West needed help.
“This is not an insult. I’m a psychologist. Kanye is not well. Please help him if you care about him,” Andrew Wortman wrote.
Jamie Foxx not supportive of West’s presidential bid
Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian and pal Elon Musk showed their support to the rapper. However, his close pal Jamie Foxx isn’t as enthusiastic.
In one post on Instagram, Foxx expressed his disapproval about West joining the political arena.
“Gottdamn right!!! Ain’t got time for the bulls—-t!!!” Foxx commented on Stephan Jackson slamming West for his presidential run announcement.
