Kanye West and Taylor Swift have a long history of feuding, but in one of his tweets, he vowed to help the Reputation singer get back her masters.
Kanye West has been making social media protests against music publishers and recording labels. In fact, he said, he would not make new music while his contract with his publisher, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and label, Universal Music Group, is over. In one of his tweets, he mentioned Taylor Swift, who was also fighting to regain her masters from Scott Braun.
Kanye West vowed to get Taylor Swift’s masters
Kanye West and Taylor Swift are not in good terms. But the Gold Digger rapper is ready to make amends as he extends support to Swift in getting back her masters.
“I’M GOING TO PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT TAYLOR SWIFT GETS HER MASTERS BACK. SCOOTER IS A CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND,” West wrote on Twitter.
West’s move received mixed reactions from his followers. Many were happy that he is trying to help Swift. However, some find it weird considering his longstanding feud with The Man singer.
One netizen claimed West only cared about masters when it affected him because if he really cared, he should have supported Swift last year. The Shake It Off singer has paper proving the secret deal but was still refused the masters and instead was victimized and only received hate.
West claimed in his tweetstorm that 90% of the record contracts are on royalty and a standard record deal is a trap for artists to never recoup. In fact, there are many hidden costs like distribution fees, and labels allegedly put it in their contracts to make more money from them without even trying.
You don’t care about masters until it affected you. If you truly cared you would’ve brought it up when Taylor did a YEAR ago. Taylor has paper proof about the secret deal, was refused the masters still, received hate and was “victimizing” herself for this while you get praised

Taylor Swift and Scott Braun dispute over her masters
Taylor Swift is in dispute with Scooter Braun and music executive Scott Borchetta in June 2019 after Braun bought her former label, Big Machine Records, and acquired her masters.
“Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy,” Swift wrote on Tumblr.
“Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it. This is my worst case scenario.”

Swift and West’s feuding history
Taylor Swift and Kanye West are not on good terms. It started at the 2009 MTV VMAs when West took the stage when Swift was about to deliver her acceptance speech after winning the Best Female Video category. To Swift’s horror, the rapper took the stage, got the mic from her, and said Beyonce was robbed.
Swift and West were able to make amends, but their feud reignited when West dropped his song Famous. The Bad Blood singer insisted she never gave her consent to West to call him “b–ch.”
West and Kim Kardashian denied insisting that she was informed about the song. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star even released a clip when West called Swift. Several criticized Swift and called her snake after the incident.
Earlier this year, a full video of West and Swift’s call leaked, and it turned out that West lied, and Swift had been telling the truth. While West informed her about the song, he never mentioned “b–ch” in the lyrics he told her. Apparently, he changed the lyrics when he dropped the song; that’s why Swift reacted that way.
