Kanye West has formally announced that he is running for president and he already gained some supporters.
Kanye West is among those who openly support President Donald Trump. From being the POTUS’ supporter, West will be challenging Trump in his re-election by joining the presidential race.

Kanye West took to social media on Saturday and made a huge announcement. West wrote that he would be running for president in the upcoming election.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ! #2020VISION,” he wrote on Twitter.
West’s post has received one million likes and tons of comments. However, there is a mixed reaction from the netizens.

Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk support West
Among Kanye West’s supporters are his wife, Kim Kardashian, and the Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
“You have my full support!” Musk wrote.
Cyberpunk 2077 commented with “Sooo this is how it started.” Musk responded to his comment with, “It may have started already.”
Kim Kardashian showed her support to her husband’s plan by sharing West’s tweet with an American flag.
Update about West’s bid for the presidency
Although Kanye West made the announcement, Forbes noted that the artist has not yet filed any paperwork to get on state election ballots. For instance, he already missed the deadline for some states, including Texas, New York, and Indiana.
However, if he is really serious about his intention in joining the presidential race, he could run as an independent candidate.
West’s presidential bid receives mixed reactions
Several netizens, including celebrities, reacted to Kanye West’s announcement. Many supported him while others made fun of him.
“And Taylor has 3 times as many followers as Kanye & more than Trump! She’s also 1,000% more rational than both of them combined,” one commented.
“This is not an insult. I’m a psychologist. Kanye is not well. Please help him if you care about him,” another added.

Meanwhile, some netizens speculated that West is running to divide the Democrat vote because he is a supporter of Trump.
