Kate Middleton and Prince William allegedly snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they congratulated the couple following the birth of their daughter, baby Lili.
Kate Middleton and Prince William were among the members of the royal family who extended a congratulatory message to the Sussexes following baby Lili’s arrival. However, there are speculations that they snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Gossip Cop looked into the report and could not certainly say so.
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s message
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a message of congratulation to welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby. However, the royal couple did not use the Sussexes’ HRH titles in their post.
Prince William and Middleton shared Prince Harry and Markle’s family picture when she was still pregnant with baby Lili on Instagram. In the snap, Markle is carrying baby Archie while showing off her baby bump. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is hugging his wife from behind.
“We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili,” the caption read. “Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.”
Gossip Cop noted that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker did the same. They also did not use Prince Harry and Markle’s royal titles when they congratulated the couple for their daughter’s arrival.
What really happened in the royal’s messages for the Sussexes
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested that the royal family probably did it to avoid drama. For her, it was an attempt to keep the tone warmer and less formal, Gossip Cop reported.
The royal family has been dealing with a lot of bad press in the past years. Multiple sources confirmed that the royal family has been divided after the Sussexes moved to the U.S. and left their royal duties.
Prince Harry’s title removed
Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s royal title was dropped from a Kensington Palace exhibit displaying his mom’s wedding gown. The Sun obtained a photo of the old and updated sign which showed that the “HRH” before Prince Harry’s name had been removed.
Last week, The Royal Collection Trust, released a statement saying there was an “administrative error” that resulted in “incorrect” labels.
Under the Megxit agreement, Prince Harry and Markle will retain their royal titles. However, they are not allowed to use them. Thus, the sign on the exhibit still calling Prince Harry “HRH” was deemed an error and was updated to reflect the terms on Megxit.
Initially, the placard in the exhibit read, “Lent by HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH The Duke of Sussex.” After the changes, it now read, “Lent by HRH The Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex.”
