Kate Middleton was uncomfortable and anxious during her first outing with Queen Elizabeth II, according to a body language expert.
Kate Middleton has been part of the royal family for nine years already. Lately, the Duchess of Cambridge appears confident with her royal duties. However, that wasn’t the case when she was still a new member of the Firm.
Kate Middleton was anxious during her first outing with the Queen
The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge made their first outing together in 2012. The royal duo visited Leicester as part of the Diamond Jubilee tour.
It was Middleton’s first outing with Her Majesty sans Prince William. According to body language expert Judi James, Middleton was showing signs of anxiety.
“Her first outings with the Queen showed some clear signals of anxiety and tension from Kate in between the smiles and moments of conversation,” James said.
“This resulted in some rather rigid poses and tense facial expressions. Clearly keen to do everything right she sits and stands in a way that looks elegant but very self-conscious and the signature dimpled smile is missing.”
Middleton and Queen Elizabeth’s relationship
Kate Middletons’ relationship with Queen Elizabeth II has since improved over the years and she has become more comfortable with Her Majesty. Last year, they stepped out together and Prince William’s wife looked more relaxed.
According to James, the duchess showed strong sings of personal charisma. It’s also visible that she already found her “grit and determination.”
Middleton more than happy to step up
In related news, it has been eight years since the said sighting and a lot of things has changed for the future queen. In May, Tatler published a report with an insider confessing that Kate Middleton was complaining about her royal duties.
According to the so-called insider, Prince William’s wife was “exhausted” and feeling “trapped.” The palace denied the claims.
Another source also debunked the allegations. An insider told Vanity Fair, that the claims were not true because Middleton loves what she does for the monarchy. In fact, the duchess is more than happy to step up.
“It’s the suggestion that she resents her duty and hard work which has upset her,” the source told Vanity Fair.
“She takes her role very seriously and has been working harder than ever. The idea she feels trapped and exhausted simply isn’t the case.”
The insider added that Middleton is already looking forward to picking up where she left off. She is eager to resume work once the pandemic is over.
“She has really been enjoying the early years work and has found her stride and purpose,” a source who works closely with Middleton added.
“She sees this work as a life-long commitment and she has worked really hard on this campaign.”
