Kate’s changes today
Kate Middleton has changed big time years after joining the Firm. Unlike Meghan Markle who hit the ground running, the Duchess of Cambridge had a slow evolution.
Katie Nicholl, author of Kate: The Future Queen, said Middleton was bullied when she was at her first secondary school due to her looks. The duchess’s lanky appearance led her to be miserable.
The girls at Downe House School were all high achievers and many had eating disorders. Everyone wanted to be the best, fittest and prettiest. Middleton’s slender and tall frame was not an asset at the time because she was teased for being gangly and lanky.
However, after a decade of being part of the royal family, she has eventually learned how to handle herself. An insider told Tatler that Middleton seemed to model herself after Queen Elizabeth II. At present, she speaks like Her Majesty. She has made several speaking engagements over the years and has grown confident in facing the public.
Royal expert Penny Junor was impressed with the way Middleton carries herself. According to her, the duchess is very measured. She is poised and elegant and doesn’t compete with her husband, Prince William. Middleton doesn’t seek fame and she cares about everything with her name on it.
