Katie Holmes is an occasional actress, director, model, and businesswoman. Recently, she’s been seen out with her new beau Emilio Vitolo Jr.
Katie Holmes is still a household name in Tinseltown.
She is most known for her role as Joey Potter on the hit series, Dawson’s Creek, which aired from 1998 to 2003.
Playing that prominent role has helped her burst into the spotlight.
While she may not be at the top of the list like other actors such as her ex-husband Tom Cruise, Holmes’ spotlight never stopped shining.
Today, Katie Holmes has an estimated net worth of $25 million.
Some of Katie’s most notable roles
Throughout her career, Katie Holmes became part of one of the highest-grossing films in history, 2005’s Batman Begins.
The movie was able to rake in more than $360 million in the worldwide box office.
She also became part of the movies Woman in Gold, First Daughter, The Romantics, and her upcoming films Brahms: The Boy II” and “The Secret: Dare to Dream.
However, Katie Holmes’ acting career was put to the test when she played Jacqueline Kennedy in two Kennedy-related TV shows.
Aside from acting, Katie is also a director and debut her work Eternal Princess, a documentary, in 2015.
Katie passed on millions
Many fans wondered why she turned down the role of Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight opposite Christian Bale.
It was reported that Katie Holmes would instead star in the comedy, Mad Money, after reading both the films’ scripts.
Unfortunately, Mad Money flopped at the box office and ended up costing the actress about two million.
She missed a very massive payday due to her decision to accept a role in the comedy film instead of the iconic Batman movie.
Katie Holmes has also turned down two TV series that would’ve given her a run for her money.
Katie was considered by the Orange Is the New Black series creator to play the role of Piper Chapman, the lead role.
Taylor Schilling made about $35,000 per episode. The show aired seven seasons and released 13 episodes per season.
The former Mrs. Cruise should’ve gotten around $3 million for the prisoner role. However, she has already made a name for herself. Perhaps the per-episode rate would be higher than Taylor’s.
She didn’t accept the role because she was said to have been too busy at that time.
Meanwhile, Katie also had the chance to play Buffy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Instead, the role went to Sarah Michelle Gellar.
According to IMDb, Sarah’s pay went from $75,000 per episode from seasons one to five and went up to $100,000 and $350,000 per episode for seasons six and seven, respectively.
Katie Holmes rejected the role because she wanted to finish high school.
